The portal, which offers viewers' participation in keep updating the information, serves as a source of information on various issues in Kannada.
The portal has separate sections for art, literature, science, environment, media, history, technology and business.
Writer Go Ru Channabasappa suggested the title 'Kanaja', meaning a treasure, for the portal.
