Torres feels at home in Liverpool

By Super Admin

London, Dec 3(ANI): Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has indicated that he would not leave the club despite a tempting offer from Manchester City, as he already feels like a born-and-bred Scouser.

Manchester City is considering a megabucks 50 million pound bid to tempt Liverpool into selling their prize asset next summer.

"I really feel at home here. From the first day I came I have felt that Anfield is my home - I feel like I am from Liverpool. For me, Anfield is the best place in England. I hope to be here for a long time and if my daughter speaks English and Scouse, I will be proud," The Sun quoted Torres, as saying.

"This is my home and it helps that I have learned the language. Have I picked up any Scouse? Deffo! I am picking up words all the time," he added.

The 25-year-old, who is in his third season at Liverpool, further said that he would like to becoming one of the club's great strikers.

"The fans have seen some of the best players in the world playing for Liverpool and now they sing my name," Torres said.

"It's amazing to score at Anfield but, really, I'd like to be remembered as a player who won things for Liverpool," he added.

Torres has scored 48 goals in just 67 appearances for the club. (ANI)
