England has improved massively since the two Andys took over: Prior

By Super Admin

Johannesburg, Dec 3(ANI): England wicket keeper Matt Prior has said that teams spirit has improved massively since skipper Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower assumed charge.

Prior's comments are an indirect criticism of previous skipper Kevin Pietersen and coach Peter Moores, who were dumped at the start of the year.

"The big difference now is everyone plays for their team-mates rather than worry about getting in the team for the next match. That change of attitude is so healthy and great to be a part of," The Sun quoted Prior, as saying.

"Now, when guys have success on the pitch, you see genuine elation in the dressing-room. That's brilliant, you can't fake it. Team spirit is a very powerful thing. I would take it any day of the week over having one or two superstars who do not want to play in the team," he added.

Prior further said that he was confident of having established himself in the national team and added that he was not concerned about challengers to his spot.

"I don't think you can fret about other players. If I play well and work hard, I'm sure I will play for England. There are a number of players who could do a good job, but it is up to me to make sure I don't give them the chance," Prior said.

"I must concentrate on my performances and, if I can keep improving, I hope I can play for England for a long time," he added. (ANI)
