India-Bangladesh Home Secretary level talks begin in New Delhi
New Delhi, Nov 30(ANI): The 10th Home Secretary level talks between India and Bangladesh began in the national capital on Monday.
Union Home Secretary G.K. Pillai is heading the Indian side whereas his Bangladesh counterpart Abdus Sabhan Sikder is leading a five-member delegation.
The agenda of present engagement of talks include issues such as action against insurgent groups, early activation of designated nodal points for sharing of information and modalities for follow up action, action on Red Corner Notices subjects through enhanced interaction between the Interpol Designated Points, amongst others.
Both the countries are also likely to discuss issues like smuggling of arms, fake currency notes, illicit drug trafficking, border management related issues like fencing along the border, working out Joint Border Management Plan, measures to check illegal cross border movement including human trafficking and illegal migration.
The talks are slated to finalize the pending treaties on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition treaty and bilateral agreement on combating international terrorism, organized crimes and illicit drug trafficking. (ANI)
