B'lore was main target for Headley & Rana: Report
Bangalore, Nov 30: David Coleman Headley, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the two terror suspects detained by US Federal Burueau of Investigation (FBI), visited Bangalore before the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks as the IT hub was the main target for the terror strikes, claims a newspaper report.
According a report published by DNA, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) on Sunday, Nov 29 confirmed that the alleged LeT operatives who visited Bangalore were primarily plotting on attacking it.
"Bangalore was supposedly the main target for these terrorists. But they feared that they might be trapped, and hence they changed their plans. The sea route through which the ten terrorists reached Mumbai was found to be more feasible for easy entry and exit," an IB official is quoted as saying in the report published on Mondya, Nov 30.
This revelation comes only two weeks after the same newspaper reported that the two terrorists had used Bangalore as transit point.
The city police are working with the security agencies to ascertain details of Headley and Rana's stay in Bangalore.
