CAT servers crash, exams cancelled
Bangalore, Nov 28: The first ever online Common Admission Test (CAT) turned into a massive disaster when the servers crashed leading to cancellation of the exams at many centres across the country.
According to the latest media reports, about 200 students taking the test in Chennai, Kolkata, Bhopal and Bangalore are affected by the servers crashing.
The CAT exams which are held every year for admissions into the prestigious IIMs, went online for the first time in 2009.
This took place on the very first day of the computerised test which is scheduled to take place over a span of 10 days from Nov 28 to Dec 7.
For 33 years now, the examination has been held in paper pencil format.
