Mumbai, Nov 26: Former president of India, APJ Abdul Kalam is gearing up to make an appearance on the silver screen as will be playing himself in a Hindi movie titled 'Mein Kalam Hoon" ( 'I am Kalam').
Apart from the fact that he will be working with a lot of children, Mr Kalam reportedly agreed to acting in the movie as he was inspired by the message the movie aimed at converying to the youth of India.
"He knows about the film and he has given his nod. He has even kindly done a cameo appearance in it," Gulshan, who is also acting in the film told a news agency.
The movie narrates the story of a young boy who ger inspired by the former President's speech and particularly the Kalam's mantra 'Great Dreams of Great Dreamers are always transcended."
Set in Rajasthan, the movie will be directed by Madhav Pandeya who hopes to see the film screen in international film festivals including CANNES.
The movie which is produced by SMILE Foundation, is a Indo-French collaboration with participation from UNICEF.
