Uma takes moral responsibility of Babri demolition
New Delhi, Nov 24: Former BJP leader Uma Bharti on Tuesday, Nov 24, said she takes moral responsibility for the Babri Masjid demolition.
Speaking to reporters, "Definitely I take the moral responsibility for whatever happened that day (December 6, 1992) because I also gave a call to people to come there and gather there...but legally I will fight against it because I don't hold myself responsible."
Uma Bharti statement comes after Liberhan Commission report had indicted her as one of the responsible for the Babri Masjid demolition.
"I will have every logic which will protect me and prove that I have no hand in that destruction. But even then I will say I take the moral responsibility. I take pride in participating in the 'Ram Janmbhoomi movement'," Bharti said.
She said she holds three systems responsible for the incident, "the undue delay by the judicial system of the country to decide who is the real owner of the disputed land.
"Second, the insensitivity of the bureaucracy and third, the politics related to minority."
