London, Nov 23 (ANI): A psychic detective has claimed that he has helped Britain's biggest police forces to solve cases by contacting murder victims "on the other side".
Joe Power, a medium who makes regular television appearances, said that detectives from the Metropolitan and Merseyside police forces have requested to make use of his "paranormal powers" in several high profile investigations.
He claimed that in the last few years, he offered up information in cases including that of teenage model Sally-Anne Bowman, who was stabbed to death in south London in 2005. e said that not only detectives, but also individual officers actively contact him for help in their inquiries.
Power, from Liverpool, said that he was contacted by a Met police officer recently on an unnamed "very high profile murder investigation".
"I got an e-mail from the Met police asking for assistance," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
"I gave them some information that was coming through the murder victim and people on the other side. Without a doubt they followed up on it," he added.
"We do not identify people we may or may not speak with in connection with enquiries. We are not prepared to discuss this further," said a spokesman for the Met.
When asked if they would use a medium in investigations, a spokesperson for the Met denied officers would "actively seek" them out but added: "We welcome any information from people who feel they are able to assist.
"We are unaware of any inquiries significantly progressed solely by information provided by a psychic medium," he said. (ANI)
