'Liberhan Commission indicts Advani, Atal, Joshi'
New Delhi, Nov 23: The Justice Liberhan commission probing into the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition has reportedly indicted top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha LK Advani and former BJP President Murli Manohar Joshi.
The Indian Express reports that Justice Manmohan Singh Liberhan has found that the demolition was meticulously planned.
Apart from this, it can neither be proved that the leaders were unaware of the plan not that they are innocent, the commission reportedly concludes.
The Home Ministry is expected to table the ATR in Parliament along with the report of the Commission during the ongoing Winter Session.
While this comes as a major blow to the crisis-striken BJP, the report charging the top brass of the Saffron Party for the demolition of Babri Masjid on Dec 6, 1992 could give Congress more political mileage.
The commission which is headed by the retired judge of Supreme Court M S Liberhan submitted its report to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Jun 30.
