Kasab should be hanged: Kavita Karkare

New Delhi, Nov 23: In an hour long meeting with Sonia Gandhi, Kavita Karkare and Smita Salaskar, the widows of 26/11 martyrs Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare and encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar, has demanded that Kasab be sent to the gallows.

Stating a fruitful outcome of the meeting, Karkare said that Sonia Gandhi was very supportive when they intimidated the problems faced by them after the demise of their husband.

"We have got assurance from Sonia Gandhi. She has been very supportive and emotional throughout the meeting. We have discussed all the problems of Martyrs. She understood our plight and the tough time we are facing and assured us of all help." said Kavita Karkare, adding that she does not wish to reveal more on the private meeting.

She said that the families of the 26/11 victims has unanimously demanded capital punishment for Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of the Mumbai-terror attacks.
