Ahmedabad, Nov 21: In the latest update on Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the terror suspect arrested with David Coleman Headley, it has come to light that Rana had stayed with a woman in 'Lemon Tree' hotel in Ahmedabad on Nov 2008.
Confirming Rana's stay in the hotel, Rahul Pandit, vice president (operations) of 'Lemon Tree' chain of hotels said that they have already been contacted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) about the issue.
"The National Investigation Agency has already contacted us and we have supplied all the details regarding him (Rana) to them," Pandit said.
The breakthrough came based on the investigations on pan-India visits by Rana and US citizen David Headley by FBI which revealed the presence of a woman in his numerous trips to India.
The woman has been identified as Samraz Rana, a Canadian national born in Bahawalpur of Pakistan.
Rana was arrested on Oct 3 with David Coleman Headley for plotting terror attacks on India as well for plotting attack on a Danish newspaper that published the controversial cartoons of Prophet Mohammed in 2005.
