Glen Johnson in Belgrade for horse-placenta cure

By Super Admin

London, Nov 19 (ANI): England defender Glen Johnson along with Anfield pal Fabio Aurelio arrived in Serbia for horse-placenta cure.

The Liverpool right back arrived in Belgrade to be treated by radical physio Mariana Kovacevic, who is also treating Robin van Persie.

Johnson's hamstring injury ruled him out of England's friendly with Brazil, while Aurelio has a calf problem.

Liverpool teammates Albert Riera and Yossi Benayoun had treatment in Belgrade over the weekend and have returned to Merseyside, The Sun reports.

Arsenal's Van Persie, expected to be out for at least six weeks with an ankle injury, is still being seen by Kovacevic, who massages liquid from a horse's placenta into the affected area.

Many doctors dismiss the treatment but an increasing number of players are using Kovacevic, who lives just outside Belgrade.

Van Persie was still hobbling at his exclusive Belgrade hotel last night, but said: "The treatment is going well."

Johnson and Aurelio arrived at the city's international airport at lunchtime and were whisked to the clinic by limousine. (ANI)
