Child sex abuse: William Heum denies confession
Chennai, Nov 18: William Heum, a Dutch national, accused of child molestation and child pornography has denied making any confession to those crimes to the police or the court.
His statement came minutes after the chief public prosecutor announced that Heum had given a confession to the police during his interrogation.
Heum was produced in a Saidapet magistrate court on Nov 18 in connection with the 2005 charge of posting child pornography on the Internet, a crime under the new IT Act.
Speaking to the reporters after the hearing, the prosecutor said, "William confessed about having affairs with boys. He also confessed he stored and later uploaded child pornography from his computer," said the public prosecutor.
However, William Heum emerging from the court, denied he had given any confession.
"No, of course not. I did not do anything. You can talk to my lawyer," said Heum adding he did not wish to make any comment lest the prosecution got an advantage.
He also said he had had enough of India and legal cases and wished to go back to the Netherlands.
