UK-based Fly mobile enters India with 2 new models

New Delhi, Nov 17: Fly Mobile, which pioneered the dual SIM phones in Europe, has entered the Indian mobile handsets market with two new dual-SIM touch-screen phones.

Owned by Meridian Group, the UK brand launched touch-screen phones under the name MC160 and E106 equipped with design and a slew of features targeting the Indian youth.

As opposed to the other touch screen models available in the market which are priced above Rs 8000, Fly Moble models come with a lower price tag. Both MC160 and E106 have the dual-SIM capability enabling users to use two GSM connections in one instrument.

Priced at Rs 6000, MC160 comes with Yamaha chipset which provides better the quality of the music. Other features include 3.2 mega-pixel camera, FM radio and recording, internal memory of 87 MB and expandable memory up to 8 GB, Bluetooth, EDGE and GPRS functionality.

E106 boasts of its sleek looks also is light on the buyer's pocket. The model's 240 x 320 resolution promises better image quality. The phone also features FM radio without earphones, FM recording, Bluetooth, GPRS, motion sensors, 2 mega-pixel camera, video recording, expandable memory up to 4 GB and more. E106 comes with a price tag of Rs 5300.

Speaking on the launch, Mr Prem Kumar, CEO (India Operations) said Fly Mobile designs new models and its features based on the consumer research which makes for the ' incessant innovation'.

This enables Fly Mobile to come up with superior products at unbelievably affordable prices, he said adding, "Of course, it also sets us apart from brands that are merely traders in cheap imports."
