Hillary praises India's electronic voting machine
Washington, Nov 14: US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is all praises for India's Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and she did not miss to say it in her television interview.
Amazed at the way India with over 1 billion population voted through EVMs, Clinton put India as model for Philippines, which is deciding to move from manual to autonomic voting system.
" I was so impressed by the way India has set this up and I do not know how the Philippines has actually set it up, they took it out of politics. It is run by a board of civil servants so that the politicians of any party are not involved in it. And it is so highly effective that nobody questions the results of the elections," Clinton said.
Citing from US experience, Clinton advised Philippines that the only way to ensure the success of automatic system in Philippines is to educate people about the system an make sure that it works.
