New Delhi, Nov 11: In the latest development to the war between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi, MNS leader Atul Sarpotdar said on Tuesday, Nov 10, that the party would apologise to the Assembly but not to Abu Azmi.

Explaining the party's stance, Sarpotdar said that MNS chief Raj Thackeray has ordered them not create any more trouble.

"Our leader Raj Thackeray had specifically instructed us not to disrupt the House or destroy any property, but one of the MLAs went out of control. We will apologise to the House when the time comes, but under no circumstance will we apologise to Abu Azmi."

The party has refused to apologise to Azmi stating that he could have avoided the whole situation had he followed the party's directives and had taken oath in Marathi.

Four MNS MLAs were suspended for physically abusing Azmi for swearing in Hindi on Monday, Nov 9, despite the orders issued by MNS chief Raj Thackeray to take oath only in Marathi.
