Gujarat, North M'rashtra put on cyclone alert
Ahmedabad, Nov 11: A warning of deep depression in the Arabian Sea has put southern districts of Gujarat as well as part of Maharashtra including Mumbai on cyclone alert.
India Meteorological Department alert issued on Tuesday, Nov 9, reads, "The system is likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm and is expected to cross south Gujarat and north Maharashtra coast between Mahuva and Dahanu by early hours of November 12."
The system could bring heavy winds to Karnataka, Goa and Kerala too.
“Under its influence heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated heavy rainfall at most places is likely to occur over south Gujarat from tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov 11)," IMD said.
Fishermen have been directed to not go into the sea.
