London, Nov.6 (ANI): Liverpool FC striker Fernando Torres has flown to Spain to undergo more tests on his dodgy groin, as there are fears that he may need hernia surgery.
Torres will get a second opinion in Valencia, with the prospect of going under the knife an option, The Sun reports.
A spokesman said: "Fernando did further tests as part of his rehabilitation. He and Steven (Gerrard) both continue to make progress."
The Spanish winger's injury and possible surgery could keep him out for at least two months, club sources said.
Coach Rafa Benitez had earlier said that he will try to manage Torres, and added that he knew that the latter was far from comfortable about his injury.
"Fernando has had problems in the last month after the international games and wasn"t 100 per cent fit. But we have to take Fernando to Lyon because we do not have too many options," he added. (ANI)
