New Delhi, Nov 5: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda will be arrested as soon as he is discharged from hospital, Income Tax officials said on Thursday, Nov 5.
The arrest follows the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday, Nov 4.
ED has asked Koda to present himself for interrogation in connection with accusations of 'illegal transactions' and 'Hawala dealings' running into over Rs 2,000 crore.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and IT department have also directed the ARA Memorial Weaver's Hospital in Ranchi, where Koda is recovering, not to release him without informing them.
On the current health condition of Koda, hospital"s medical superintendent PD Sinha said, "He is weak but fine. We will be shifting him out of the ICU on Thursday, Nov 5."
Speaking to a news channel, Sinha added that a team of doctors will take stock of the situation today. Koda will be discharged in a day or two.
