Ex-England pacer Mahmood vows to make a national team comeback

By Super Admin

London, Nov.4 (ANI): Ex-England fast bowler Sajid Mahmood has vowed to bounce back in style after two years in the wilderness.

The Lancashire pacer last played at the 2007 World Cup and aims to shine in the limited-overs leg of England's tour to South Africa this month.

Mahmood, 27, has taken 29 wickets in 25 one-day internationals since his debut in 2004.

"I think the main reason I got dropped was consistency - a lot of ups and downs. I've now had more than two years out, playing county cricket and away from the spotlight. I could reflect on what I did and where I needed to be. I've worked on hitting certain areas with my bowling and trying to perform more consistently," The Sun quoted Mahmood, as saying.

"That improvement has shown over the last couple of years and to get the tour call-up was fantastic," he added. (ANI)
