Rajouri District collector S Jaipal Singh confirmed that militants had hurled grenades at her house and later fired from the hill top before escaping in the cover of darkness. Fortunately Rukhsana and her family members were out when the incident happened.
"Rukhsana and her family members are at a very safe place in Rajouri", he said.
The family were shifted to a government quarter in a high security police colony after Rukhsana's much publicized encounter with LeT militants in which she killed one of the militant with an AK 47 rifle and injured another.
The militants had barged into her house on Sep 27 and started physically abusing her father when Rukhshana along with her brother overpowered one of the militant and snatched his AK 47.
Rukhsana's bravery had won her praises from President Pratibha Patil during her visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
