Luke Wright says Strauss the right man to lead England against Proteas

By Super Admin

London, Oct.29 (ANI): Emerging England all-rounder Luke Wright believes Andrew Strauss is the right man to lead the side on the winter tour to South Africa.

Strauss and Co fly this weekend with two Twenty20s, five ODIs and four Tests providing the ultimate yardstick for their progress.

Wright is in all three squads, having impressed the selectors during his time in the limited overs set-up.

The Sussex ace has played just eight matches under Strauss.

He said: "The weird thing for me was that I didn't know Straussy that well before this summer. We were passing ships in the night. Whenever I came in for the one-dayers, he dropped out. So going into the series just gone against Australia, I was nervous about meeting him. As a young player, you want to impress the new captain. You want him to rate you too," The Sun quoted Wright, as saying..

"But I spoke to Stuart Broad about it before and he raved about how good a leader he is," he added.

"It's everything, from the way he speaks in the dressing room, to the way he bats in the middle. But the key is he makes you very calm, with simple plans that don't over-complicate things," he said. (ANI)
