Bangalore, Oct 24: In yet another triple murder case, Rahul Das,an interior designer, wife Pushpalata, and daughter Agneeshu, a student of Devamatha Central School were found murdered in their residence in Jayanthi Gram Layout in Ramamurthy Nagar Police Limit in Bangalore on Friday, Oct 24.
Rahul was found hanging upside down with his head in a bucket of water and his legs tied to water tap with a towel, while the bodies of wife and daughter were found in the bathtub.
Jt Commissioner (Crime),Alok Kumar said,"We still do not know the modus Operandi and the purpose of the murder. Investigation are going on." However, there has been mixed reports on how the murder came to light.
A report said that the murder was discovered when Mehboob Subhan, a carpenter employed by Rahul, found the house lock since Wednesday and repeated phone calls to Rahul was left unattended. Mehboob informed Rahul's Father in Assam after his repeated complain to constable Nanjappa of Ramamurthy Police Station was unheeded. It was only when Rahul's brother Ganapathy informed Ramamurthy Police Station again, that the police broke the lock and found the bodies.
However, another report said that it was Pramila, Rahul's Secretary, who alerted the police after her boss failed to answer her calls. "I had been trying to contact Rahul since Wednesday, Oct 21, but there was no response. I went to their house but found it locked. I thought they might have gone on holiday. Then on Thursday, Oct 22, I called Rahul's brother in Bijapur and when he came here out of suspicion, he alerted the police and we found them dead."
Judging by the way the murder was committed police said that there must have been three or four people involved in the crime.“A lot of effort has gone into the murder. While dipping Rahul"s head into the water, his legs were lifted to tie him upside down, that requires at least three persons. This apart, we found two jewelery boxes lying on the floor, possibly to divert attention from the real motive behind the crime. The killers later locked the house from outside. Police are trying to access the call details of Rahul"s mobile phone," a police officer said.
It has also been suspected that the murder must have been committed on Tuesday, Oct 20, as the family was last seen alive on Monday, Oct 19 and Agneeshu was seen playing with fire crackers in the evening.
