J&K: 26 striking junior doctors suspended
Srinagar, Oct 24: 26 striking medicos were slapped with suspension order by the J&K Government after the fourth round of talks between the government and the doctors ended in a deadlock.
Official Spokesman said that the decision to suspend 26 doctors and revert 24 assistant surgeons from medical education department to health department was taken after considering the problems faced by people in different hospitals due to the strike.
In response, the medicos who entered their 20th day of indefinite strike, threatened mass migration.
"The question of termination of doctors does not arise as we are voluntarily planning to migrate en mass", Doctors Joint Action Committee (DJAC) spokesman Mehrajuddin said, adding that they will gherao the secretariat on Monday, Oct 26.
