Bangalore, Oct 23: In a commendable initiative to appreciate the 'ordinary citizens for their extraordinary contributions', Namma Bengaluru Foundation has launched an annual Awards programmes.
The Namma Bengaluru Awards was conceptualized by Member of Parliament and Convener of ABIDe, Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar with the intention of awarding the real stars of the city.
The foundation which is a Non Profit Trust has invited nominations for two categories including Namma Bengaluru Awards for Public Officials and Agencies and Namma Bengaluru Awards for Private Citizens and Institutions.
While the first category is aimed at recognising public officials and government agencies like MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Officers & Staff of Civic agencies like BDA, Bescom, and BBMP and the second one is aimed at recognizing efforts of citizens and private institutions including NGOs, RWA, Companies, schools and others.
So, if you know anyone who deserves the award and fits into one of these categories the process is a simple one. Both Kannada and English application forms are available on the website.
The forms should be submitted with evidence or proof such as photographs or videos. The nominees will be then scrutinized by a jury panel which includes by high-profile achievers like, Justice Santosh Hegde from Lokayukta, Justice Rama Jois who is a Member of Parliament, Poet GS Siddalingaiah, Actress Ramya and others.
