Kolkata, Oct 22 (ANI): A three-day long Lok Sanskriti Utsav, a cultural festival providing a glimpse of folk forms of various states has enthused people here.

The National Educational Research and Development Programme (NERDP), organised the festival with the aim of providing a platform for various folk forms, which are on the verge of extinction.

Speaking to the ANI on the sidelines of the festival, the NERDP Global, Additional Director D. Chatterjee said: "Folk forms are in the dying stage. So, we want to revive them by providing them with a platform."

Folk artistes from 12 different states are participating in the event.

"Many people have come here. We are seeing their performance, while showing ours. We are getting to learn a lot from here," said Komal Pameet Kaur, a Punjabi folk artist.

The NERDP wants to take the event to other states and is already planning to hold one show in New Delhi. By Ajitha Menon (ANI)
