Indian team practices hard ahead on ODI series against Australia

By Super Admin

Mumbai, Oct. 21 (ANI): Ahead of their seven-match ODI series against Australia, Indian cricket squad spent a couple of hours practising hard at the nets on Wednesday here.

The first match of the series will be played at Baroda on October 25.

The venues of the other matches are Nagpur, New Delhi, Mohali, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Mumbai.

For the first two games of the series, opener Virender Sehwag has been recalled to the India squad.

Sehwag missed the Twenty20 World Cup, and the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa while recovering from the surgery.

Batsman Yuvraj Singh, who missed the Champions Trophy with a broken finger, was named in the 15-player squad with the hope that he would be fit to start the seven-match series.

Uncapped 22-year-old pace bowler Sudeep Tyagi has also been included in the squad after some good domestic performances.

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has said that the hosts (India) are a difficult side to beat at home.

As for the Australians, Michael Clarke was forced to withdraw from the Champions Trophy with a back injury.

The Kangaroos will also miss first choice wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, who is undergoing rehabilitation after finger surgery and left-arm paceman Nathan Bracken due to complications in his knee.

Australia won the ODI series 4-2 on their previous visit to India two years ago. (ANI)
