SC posts Ambani gas dispute hearing to Oct 21
New Delhi, Oct 20: A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan commenced the hearing on the gas dispute involving the Ambani brothers, and adjourned the case to further hearing to Wednesday, Oct 21.
In the next session Harish Salve, the senior counsel representing Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is expected to be continuing the argument for the company.
The four year battle between Anil Ambani's Reliance Natural Resources Ltd and his brother's RIl entered final phase on Tuesday, Oct 20. This also comes after Anil Ambani's peace offering to his brother.
During the hearing, the apex court reportedly noted that the dispute is a fight involving people heading the company and has been brought down to the shareholders.
The brothers are like two nations fighting a war, but the people of the two countries have no rivalry against each other, the court said on the situation.
"Thus, there is no fight between the two companies, but just between two individuals which has percolated down to the people," the apex court pointed out.
