Jharkhand: 3 killed in Maoist attack
Chatra, Oct 20: Three people were killed and six others critically injured, when Maoists attacked them in Chatra district of Jharkhand on Tuesday, Oct 20.
The dead have been identified as Umesh Mali, head of naxal outfit 'Sastra People's Morcha' (SPM), Umesh Singh Bhokta, a local leader of Lokjanshakti Party and Ranjit Rajjak.
Deo Bihari Sharma, district Superintendent of Police, said, "The deceased were watching a cultural programme near Rajpur Middle School around 2 am, when a group of armed Maoists fired on them."
He also said, the condition of all the injured, including a police driver, is stated to be critical.
