'Why do people hate you?' question stuns Obama
New Orleans, Oct 17: 10-year-old schoolboy, Terence Scott managed to stun the usually calm and very articulate US president, Barack Obama with the question 'Why do people hate you?', at a town hall meeting in New Orleans.
The president who probably has a whole lot of reasons to believe that he was going a good job and that people supported and believed in him was awoken to a harsh reality with these five words of the child.
Lost for words at first, Obama gave a defensive response.
"Well now, first of all I did get elected president, so not everybody hates me now," he said.
"I got a whole lot of votes. But you know, what is true is if you were watching TV lately, it seems like everybody's just getting mad all the time," he added blaming political elements for this unfavourable attitude towards him.
However, in recent times Barack Obama has been facing the wrath of the US people for various reasons including the gay laws to the troops in Afghanistan which increased further after he was declared the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.
