Ranchi, Oct 10 (ANI): Tribal men and women near Ranchi recently celebrated their annual cultural festival with pomp and gaiety.
The two-day cultural festival called 'Murma festival' was celebrated at Murmu subdivision, 30 kilometers from Ranchi.
During the festival, tribal men and young boys carry traditional weapons like swords and sticks in the procession.
"Here in this festival we showcase our tribal culture and display our weapons like swords in the procession. It is not to scare or hurt people but to just show our unity," said Suraj Minz, a tribal.
Tribal women also participate in the procession. Donning traditional tribal attire, women present cultural dance in the procession.
Enthusiastic tribals visit different stalls with their families making themselves a part of the yearly ritual.
"There are sugarcane stalls in the fair and there are swings also. We have come here to attend and see the procession and the religious tribal rituals being performed," said Sawan Kacchap, another tribal.
