Promoting peace through music in Assam

Haflong (Assam), Oct 10 (ANI): Two young girls Ache and Agui have come together to promote peace in Assam through their music.

There are some 14 tribes residing in the North Cachar Hills District, who are frequently involved in disputes, as a result of which the region is often fraught with tension.

And disturbed with these everyday occurrences, Ache and Agui, both in their 20's, have come up with a music album promoting peace and harmony through their songs.

"The aim behind making this album is to spread the message of peace and harmony amongst the people. They should learn to live in harmony and learn to preserve their things. They should forget their selfish interests. So, we made this album with an aim to dispel such feelings from the people's minds," said Agui.

Their album 'Chu Du Lau' is a mix of folk and patriotic songs in their mother tongue Jeme Naga dialect. (ANI)
