Manchester City set for 65-mn pounds Ribery swoop

By Super Admin

London, Oct 10 (ANI): English Premier League big spenders Manchester City will go all out to make a stunning bid for Bayern Munich's star Franck Ribery.

The offer for Ribery would be of 65 million pounds, The Sun reports. Munich is desperate to keep Ribery.

If successful the move would take City's spending under Mark Hughes City to 315 million pounds in 20 months on new players, including a British record transfer fee of 32.5 million pounds for former Real Madrid star Robinho.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently claimed that Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona had all made offers for the playmaker in the past.

Rumours of a rift between Ribery and new Bayern coach Louis van Gaal have only added to the speculation with Ribery saying: "It is important that you have faith in the coach, but with him (Van Gaal) it is complicated.

"This is the first time that my contact with a coach is not positive. There's not much feeling between us." (ANI)
