Rawalpindi, Oct.10 (ANI): Pakistani security forces killed four militants and nabbed two others following an hour-long commando operation in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The extremists, who arrived in a white car, opened firing near the Army Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and lobbed five hand grenades in their bid to break the barrier and force their way into the headquarters.
Security forces retaliated the gunfire and killed four terrorists, who according to eyewitnesses were dressed in army uniform.
A massive combing operation was launched in the area adjacent to the GHQ resulting in the arrest of two other militants who were trying to escape.
Television footage showed helicopters keeping a close watch on the militant movements while the ground operation were on.
No official word was available on the attack till the reports last filter-in, however, sources said some of the security officials may also have been injured during the operation. (ANI)
