Navi Mumbai, Oct 10: LK Advani has revived the issue of Ram Temple in Ayodhya in the Maharashtra Poll campaign and has said that he dreams of a 'grand' Temple.

Taking up the issue despite the Hindutva issue failing party in the May 2009 Lok Sabha Elections, LK Advani said, "It is my cherished dream to have a 'bhavya' (grand) Ram Mandir at Ayodhya."

The veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader's statement was received with apploause at a Navi Mumbai election rally on Friday, Oct 9.

While campaigning for Shiv Sena- BJP alliance candidates Suresh Haware (Belapur) and Vijay Chougule (Airoli) for the Oct 13 Assembly polls, Advani compared the Congress-led government to the British rule.

"The Congress regime is not much different from the British rule. Innocent people thought that there would be 'surajya' (good governance) after the British leave India. But Congress has pushed the country into the jaws of inflation and starvation," he said.

Advani had picked up the issue earlier when he visited the Somnath temple marking the anniversary of the Rath Yatra on Sep 25.
