Maoists attack police patrol in Maharashtra
Nagpur, Oct 8: Around 150 Maoists attacked a police patrol on Thursday afternoon, Oct 8 in Lahiri village, Maharashtra, a media report said.
Two policemen have sustained minor injuries in the firing that lasted for nearly three hours.
After the firing was stopped, the security forces have launched combing operations in the forests to weed out the Maoists
Senior police and civil officials are keeping a close tab on the situation, especially since the incidents came barely five days before the Maharashtra assembly elections Oct 13.
