Vista damaged Microsoft's reputation: Ballmer
London, Oct 7: With the launch of the new Operating System Windows 7 coming up, software giant Microsoft admitted that Vista defiled the company's reputation.
The 2007 operating system caused the system to hang indefinitely among many other technical glitches.
Speaking on Vista, company's chief executive Steve Ballmer said that the company company's reputation never recovered from the poor performance of Vista.
"We got some uneven reception when [Vista] first launched in large part because we made some design decisions to improve security at the expense of compatibility. I don't think from a word-of-mouth perspective we ever recovered from that," Ballmer was qouted by the Daily Telegarph.
Ahead of Windows 7 release scheduled to take place on Oct 22, Ballmer said that the company expected to see lower sales with the economic slump affecting the sales of PCs severely.
