Mid-air scuffle: AI suspends pilot, attendant
New Delhi, Oct 6: Air India authorities on Tuesday, Oct 6 suspended pilot Captain Ranbir Arora and flight attendant Amit Khanna following mid-air scuffle.
Sources said the decision came even as the report of the inquiry committee set up to probe the brawl onboard flight IC-884 was awaited.
The committee had on Monday, Oct 5 heard out the pilots and flight attendants involved in the scuffle, sources said.
The report of Directorate General of Civil Aviation as well as a police probe into the molestation charges made by air hostess Komal are awaited.
Addressing a press conference, Shailendra singh, President, ICPA said "The pilots have been wrongly singled out. It is the duty of the Captain to discipline the air crew and I am thankful to the pilots for maintaining their cool."
Air hostess Komal Singh had already registered an FIR with the Delhi police charging two AI pilots with molestation and assault during a mid-air scuffle. Komal had also sought help from the National Commission for Women to pursue her case.
