Another chopper controversy in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Oct 5: The Aviation Academy Chief of Andhra Pradesh, Dr KV Bramhananda Reddy has been suspended for neglecting the Chief Minister, K Rosaiah when he asked for the government helicopter to conduct an aerial survey of the flood situation in the state.
Frustrated and enraged over having to wait over an hour for the chopper, Rosaiah took the matter into serious cognisance.
Rosaiah who lost his patience over the matter asked Chief Secretary P Ramakantha Reddy to look into the matter leading to Dr KV Bramhananda Reddy's suspension.
Dr KV Bramhananda Reddy has often been seen as the 'pet' of the late CM, YS Rajashekhara Reddy who secured many good posts and projects during YSR government.
It is also learnt that Dr Reddy did not respect the now acting Chief Minister K Roasaih who took over the post after YSR's sudden demise.
YSR not only chose Brahmananda Reddy not for a post in the Airports and Ports department, he was also given the chance to mastermind construction of Krishnapatnam, Gangavaram, Vadarevu, Nizampatnam ports, besides the Hyderabad International Airport.
He was later sent to Aviation Academy where he unfortunately incurred the wrath of the government for sending the outdated Bell-430 helicopter for YSR, which led to the crash that killed the Chief Minister. He was also responsible for not alerting the CMO about bad weather conditions.
