London, Oct 4(ANI): Former Arsenal defender Patrick Vieira, who currently plays for Italian club Internazionale, looks all set to for a return to the Emirates on a 18-month deal in January.
According to reports, Arsenal has offered him around 70,000 pounds-a-week to make a comeback to the club, which he represented from 1996 to 2005.
Earlier, Vieira was lined up for a move back to London in the summer and had even passed a medical, but the club didn't get the 7,50,000 pound fee to Inter Milan before the deadline.
"Patrick was an amazing, fantastic player for us. For me, he is perfect for every team. We are very young and it is difficult to win with a young team," The News of the World quoted Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager, as saying.
The Gunners legend was an integral part of Wenger's side that went unbeaten throughout the entire 2003-2004 season.
According to reports, the France midfielder is desperate to leave Internazionale after becoming a bit-part player behind the likes of Dejan Stankovic, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti and Sulley Muntari. (ANI)
