London, October 3 (ANI): A British woman believes cigarettes and alcohol have helped her reach the age of 107.
Dorothy Peel, Yorkshire, treats herself to a glass of sherry before lunch, several shots of whisky and an occasional cigarette.
"So much for 'smoking and drinking is not good for you'. I'm living proof that a little of what you fancy does you good," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.
She added: "I never dreamt I'd get to 107. I'm a cheeky character and I still enjoy the occasional cigarette".
The widow, who never had any children, credits her husband for introducing her to gin during World War Two.
Tom O'Hagan of the Society of St Vincent de Paul, one of her visitors, said: "Her memory is great and she still likes to do her crosswords." (ANI)
