Lahore, Oct.3 (ANI): Sidelined Pakistani opener Imran Farhat believes the home team will have an advantage over the Kiwis in the ICC Champions Trophy semi-final, but also highlighted that senior players must perform in order to seal a final berth.
Interacting with media persons at the National Cricket Academy here, Farhat said senior players are yet to show their talent in the tournament and that the semifinal encounter against New Zealand would be the perfect platform for them to fire.
"Our senior batsmen have yet to show their true performance in the Champions Trophy and the semi-final and the final are the right matches to deliver," Farhat said.
Commenting on the difficult playing conditions in South Africa, he said batsmen have been facing problems in scoring runs and added that Saturday's match could be a low scoring game.
"The conditions are not conducive for the batsmen and the likely chance is of a low scoring encounter. I feel the big target would be difficult to achieve at such a track," The Nation quoted Farhat, as saying.
All-rounder Abdul Razzaq said toss will play an important role in the match and highlighted that bowling is Pakistan's main weapon.
"Pakistan to me is favourite to win the match," he said. (ANI)
