Man arrested in ESPN sportscaster nude video case

By Super Admin

New York, Oct 3 (ANI): The FBI has arrested a Chicago-area man on charges of covertly filming ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews nude in her hotel room.

The FBI said 48-year-old Michael David Barrett, West mont, Ill., was arrested at O'Hare International Air port on Friday night.Barrett allegedly used his cell phone to make the videos through modified peepholes while Andrew was undressing and posted them over the Internet.

It is also believed he tried to sell the video to celeb website TMZ.com, which claims to have declined the offer.

Andrews was quite upset and anxious because of the whole episode.

The New York Post quoted Andrew's criminal complaint as saying: "As a result of the incident, [Andrews] did not sleep well and had constant anxiety.

"In addition, [Andrews] was having trouble breathing and felt sick all of the time. She was concerned there might be more video and wanted to vomit just thinking about it."

Andrews said in her complaint the background in some of the tapes looked like her room in the Nashville Marriott, where she had stayed in early September.

On investigation the FBI found that "The inner eyepiece of the peephole screws into the sleeve for the peephole.... The eyepiece had been tampered with and was shortened, and it appeared to have been hack-sawed."

Hotel records also showed that Barrett had put up in the room next to Andrews.

According to the FBI he had asked "specifically for a room next to [Andrews]."

Barrett was arrested after the feds traced his contact through his phone, which they found after busting his email address used to send the mail to TMZ.

Barrett faces federal charges of interstate stalking for taking the videos, posting them online and trying to sell them to websites. (ANI)
