Thekaddy (Kerala), Oct.2 (ANI): Agitated over the Wednesday's boat tragedy, which left over 40 people killed as their boat capsized, relative of a victim made Kerala State minister C Divakaran to apologise here on Friday for the mishap.

The victim's relative came face to face with the Kerala's Minister for Food and Civil supplies, C Divakaran when he was surrounded by media persons.

The mournful relative asked the minister to stop making lame excuses about the tragic incident and apologise by taking the responsibility for the incident.

Divakaran was told that the tragedy could have been avoided if life jackets were made available in the boat which belonged to the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC).

The minister, initially, hesitated and asked the person to not raise his pitch on him as he had even visited victims' kin after the tragic incident. But later, on the victim's kin's persistence for apology, said: "I am sorry. I am sorry".

The relative was one among many others who had come to claim the bodies of the victims. But he opted to corner the Kerala minister while he was addressing the press.

Six members of a family in Paschim Vihar and four members of another family in the same area and Harinder Singh and Palika from Delhi were among those who had died in the accident. (ANI)
