'I'd never cheat to win a title,' says Button

By Super Admin

London, Oct.2 (ANI): Brawn Grand Prix ace Jenson Button has vowed that he will never cheat to win a title.

"I'll never do a Schuey and ram a rival off the track for title glory," The Sun quoted Button, as saying.rit Button will clinch the title if he is 20 points ahead of Brawn GP teammate Rubens Barrichello and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel after Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix.

But asked if he would do the same, Button, 29, blasted: "That was Schumacher. It's not me. It wouldn't mean so much to me if I forced another driver off or did something during the season like stopping the car on the circuit. I would rather not win the championship unless I win it fairly and squarely."

"It is like doing a running race and taking a short cut and getting a good time. You just don't do it. I know there is a lot of money involved in F1 but, still, it would be just like robbing a bank," he added.

Schuey controversially bagged his first drivers' title in 1994 when he rammed into Britain's Damon Hill in their title showdown in Adelaide.

The German tried to do the same to Jacques Villeneuve in Jerez three years later but ended up in a Spanish sand trap.

Schumacher's talent was obvious but he was also helped by being assured No 1 status at Ferrari when the likes of team-mate Barrichello had to play second fiddle.

Button added: "You win it fair or there is no point. I have always had the same equipment as my team-mate, which is so mportant. (ANI)
