London, Sep.30 (ANI): Manchester City's new recruit Carlos Tevez has warned his former club Manchester United that he plans to take his clebrations over the top should he score against them.
Tevez drew widespread praise for the almost apologetic way he acknowledged his first goal in Manchester City's 3-1 win over West Ham on Monday night.
Having turned home Martin Petrov's cross right in front of the Hammers supporters, he refused to mock his old club, recognising the part they played in his career.
"I have decided not to celebrate my goals out of respect to West Ham," he told the Daily Mail.
"They were my first club in England and, in my heart, part of me will always be a Hammer. The professional part of me was really pleased with my first City goals at home but, personally, I would have preferred to beat another club," he added.
"In the derby against United I had also decided not to celebrate our goals but, after the bad treatment I received from the supporters that day, I have changed my stance on that. If I score in the next derby then I am sure that I will celebrate," The Independent quoted Tevez, as saying. (ANI)
