London, Sep 25(ANI): Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted that his nature of showing aggression and celebrating would never change, as that is the essence of football.
Earlier, on September 12, Adebayor was handed a three match suspension for violent conduct and extravagant celebration after scoring a goal against Arsenal.
"I am not afraid, and I will still celebrate with emotion. When you start to take emotion out of football you are going to have a very big problem. For the fans and the players it is an emotional game," The Daily Express quoted Adebayor, as saying.
Adebayor, a 25 million pound signing from Arsenal, said that he had not intentionally injured his former team-mate, Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie, who received a cut on his face following a clash with the Togo star.
He further said that he would accept whatever FA decides in the investigation into the controversy.
"The FA has a job to do. I hope when they look they see that there was no intent in anything I did. I hope people understand that I did not mean anything, I was running on emotion and then it is very hard to control what you do," Adebayor said. (ANI)
