New York, Sep 24 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S M Krishna met US President Barack Obama here today.
After his meeting with Krishna, Obama said: "Looking forward to first state visit by Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh."
"Looking for a fruitful friendship with India," Obama added.
On Wednesday, Krishna attended a reception hosted by Obama.
Earlier in the day, Krishna led the Indian delegation at the opening day of the general debate of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly.
He called on Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed. The two leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
They agreed that defence and security relations of India and Maldives were intertwined.
Krishna also conveyed that he was looking forward to the visit of the Maldivian President to India in October for attending the Delhi High-Level Conference on Climate Change on Technology Development and Transfer as the Guest of Honour. (ANI)
