New Delhi, Sep 24:The Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's surprise visit to Uttar Pradesh angered Mayawati government as it accused him of not obeying security rules.
The state government announced it would complain to the Centre terming this incident as a security protocol breach.
The Congress MP reached Lucknow on Wednesday, Sep 23 evening and headed to Barabanki district along with five vehicles and stopping for some time at Ram Nagar tehsil crossing on Gonda-Bahraich road.
The Pradesh Congress Committee leaders in Lucknow said they were unaware of Rahul's plan to visit.
Rahul discussed with locals the problems of power, potable water and state of roads.
He assured that these issues would soon be addressed.
He also inspected the progress of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
